Shoes

“I could walk a mile in your shoes, but I already know they’re just as uncomfortable as mine. Let’s walk next to each other instead…” ― Lynda Meyers

I truly believe most of women like shoes, why? No idea, I guess girls will always be girls. For us shoes are like beer for men. Now, we are nothing if what we only have in life is a closet full shoes. Shoes should tell an story, should be the result of our accomplishments in life, that at the end it is what is more important. There are all kind of shoes out there, for all kind of taste. Sometimes I can wear an uncomfortable pair of shoes, just because I like them. I love high heels, why? Because I am short, they add me some inches more  and also are more elegant and classic. But with the years I have changed my taste for shoes, I look more now for comfortable shoes, equally pretty, but I like shoes that gave me that feminine touch and also comfort.

I made this short selection of shoes from Saks Fifth Avenue . These were the one I could definitely wear from all the selection of shoes they offer in their only story.

I have never being able to dress or wear the shoes I like. But I still enjoy looking at them, at the options available, recommend them to others. I enjoy when others can enjoy of these little things of life and have the acquisitive power to buy them. I do not have the shoes or the clothes I want, neither my children, but I am thankful for what I have. When I was a little girl, living in Cuba, I was at a party, my uncle told me in front of all: “why you came to the party in flip flop?” He embarrassed me with my shoes, which were the only pair of shoes I had at that time, a new pair of flip-flops. I was all the time hiding my feet under the chair and I did not move in all night from there. I remember that kind with tears on my eyes, but those little events also taught me important lessons. Some people are truly mean, some people do not have idea of others suffering and necessities, some people do not know how much words can hurt others, some people use us and our miseries for their own purpose, even to feed their ego, to feel on power or control. I also learn to tolerate that kind of people, they are mean because there is something bad inside them, they do not realize the damage they do. Later, during my adolescence, I wanted to look better, like any teenager in the world. But the same story, we were really poor, I used to make clothes from my grandma old clothes from before the Cuban Revolution, also in some occasions I had to wear my grandma shoes that were  one size bigger than mine.

Then my dear readers, I just hope you enjoy my today selection of shoes. If you like any of them and you can, buy them, feel great in them, enjoy it. Share you outfit here along with your story.

Sending you a lot of love…

Wish

Wish

“It sounds like a fairy-tale, but not only that; this story of what man by his science and practical inventions has achieved on this earth, where he first appeared as a weakly member of the animal kingdom, and on which each individual of his species must ever again appear as a helpless infant… is a direct fulfilment of all, or of most, of the dearest wishes in his fairy-tales. All these possessions he has acquired through culture. Long ago he formed an ideal conception of omnipotence and omniscience which he embodied in his gods. Whatever seemed unattainable to his desires – or forbidden to him – he attributed to these gods. One may say, therefore, that these gods were the ideals of his culture. Now he has himself approached very near to realizing this ideal, he has nearly become a god himself. But only, it is true, in the way that ideals are usually realized in the general experience of humanity. Not completely; in some respects not at all, in others only by halves. Man has become a god by means of artificial limbs, so to speak, quite magnificent when equipped with all his accessory organs; but they do not grow on him and they still give him trouble at times… Future ages will produce further great advances in this realm of culture, probably inconceivable now, and will increase man’s likeness to a god still more.” ― Sigmund Freud, Civilization and Its Discontents

I wish I could be like this seagull, free, getting high on the sky. Reaching the top of my dreams. Be always near the sea. Enjoying the breeze. I wish I could fly and feel that no one is anchoring me to the ground again. One day my wishes will come true, and I will be happy again. For now I continue living inside my story book, filling each page with many more dreams.

Time ago, I made the impossible and one of my dreams came to reality, I met an amazing man, one that I dreamed to meet. The people who took me to his encounter told me: “do you believe in fairy tales?” A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes” He is with me, always, he is part of my dreams and my reality. He is the force that make me believe. He and only him know what  I carry inside me. Thanks Dad, thanks for your love, care and for trusting in me. I love you.

I have always liked fashion, I have dreamed about many outfits that I have not been able to acquire. But I have also accepted what I have in life and be thankful for that. I enjoy finding new outfits, articles that I would like to own for myself and share them with all. If others can buy them and make their dreams reality, I am equally happy. I wish one day I could be able to buy the clothes and accessories I like for my daughter and myself. I wish one they I could dress better and find happiness opening my closet. But until that day become a reality, I will equally enjoy what my eyes like and will continue bringing all I found to this little space. Wish you like today combination like me.

Quicken

Quicken

Loneliness clarifies. Here silence stands
Like heat. Here leaves unnoticed thicken,
Hidden weeds flower, neglected waters quicken,
Luminously-peopled air ascends;
And past the poppies bluish neutral distance
Ends the land suddenly beyond a beach
Of shapes and shingle. Here is unfenced existence:
Facing the sun, untalkative, out of reach.”

― Philip Larkin, The Whitsun Weddings

I started working on today post and I wanted to do it about wedding dresses. But suddenly I found like for serendipity and outfit that I love, it was totally the opposite of what I was thinking, nothing to do with wedding and black tie, then I quickened the previous idea and decided to deliver today some every day outfits, outfits that you can use in diverse occasions and more than one time. Wish you enjoy them all as much as me.

Audacious

Center

“You’ll learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken. Be bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to conform, take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path. Laugh in the face of adversity, and leap before you look. Dance as though EVERYBODY is watching. March to the beat of your own drummer. And stubbornly refuse to fit in.” ― Mandy Hale, The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass

Sometimes you do not want to be the center of attention, but you irremediably get all the eyes on the room over you. Why? You have your own fashion style, for example. You dare to mix different textures and shapes. You use the colors that do not belong to the season.

St. Patrick’s Day

May you always have…
Walls for the winds
A roof for the rain
Tea beside the fire
Laughter to cheer you
Those you love near you
And all your heart might desire.

Deep in my Soul, Love.

“Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children’s children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.”― Theodore Roosevelt

I had a terrible day, but a day full of patriotism and love the land that saved my family and me from political prosecution. Then I started today outfit with the colors of the flag, honoring that symbol of courage. After that some outfit with yellow, making the sun shine for you all, with love.
