Spa at home on Valentine’s Day

“Relax, indulge, enjoy, and love yourself, take time to refresh and refocus, renew and be revived, there is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort.”

Are you planning a date night on Valentine’s day? Will you spend the day alone? Does not matter what are your plans for this day in which celebrate love and friendship, you can pamper yourself and relax at home. What can be better for relaxing than Spa day at home?

My bathroom is not as fancy as the pictures I will share, but if you have at least a bathtub we can make the best out it with some ideas. If no you can also have a warm and relaxing bath. The bathroom can be decorated with candles, there many options in the market, from less expensive to more expensive, Marshall’s always have different brands of candles to a very good price. Select you favorite fragrance, keep in mind that you will be using some other beauty products, try no to mix many brands or fragrances, be consistent. I love vanilla and coconut fragrances.  Put as many candles as you want, but always be careful. Place some rose petals on the bathtub, I love the white petals with a little pink color. You can add to the water a bath bomb from Lush cosmetics, I love the butter bath bomb, it has a vainilla scent. Have ready the best towels, for me the ideal are white towels. Also remember to bring your bathrobe, put some soft music, Moonlight sonata from Beethoven, Water music from Handel or other. To keep yourself hydrated prepare a lemon water or pomegranate-berry water. Make this time perfect, only for you or for you and your special someone.

Pomegranate-berry water from Wellgal.com

1 quart filtered or spring water
1 cup of ice
1/4 cup pomegranate juice
4 – 6 sprigs of fresh peppermint or spearmint (or 1-2 mint tea
bags)
1/4 cup sliced strawberries
1/4 cup red raspberries
Directions

This beautiful spa water is quick and easy to make. First, wash the mint, discard any unsightly leaves, and cut off any excess stems. Then add the mint (or substitute tea bags) and berries to a pitcher of water and chill for a couple of hours or overnight, so that the flavors are fully infused.

Options

Have fun modifying this recipe with other ingredients you may have on hand, such as blackberries, cranberries, and blueberries. Ice cubes made with fresh herbs, such as mint leaves, are especially pretty if you have the time to make them in advance.

If you are taking a bath there are many beauty products that you could use, I am sharing here some of them. I truly love to use the collection of products of the same brand instead of match different brands and products, but I will share here some of my favorite options, then you can decide what to use.
